The Institute for Human Studies at George Mason University will mark its 50th anniversary of helping students and academics interested in individual liberty pursue their intellectual and career goals. They offer a broad range of programs, including internships, fellowships of up to $15,000, and interdisciplinary seminars.
Their Internship Programs in policy and journalism offer experience and formal training, helping students land jobs after graduation. They offer a range of placements across the US, and students may also request funding for internships secured on their own.
The two programs open to all majors are:
- Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program: Paid public policy internships at over 50 think tanks and policy organizations across the US. a 10-week summer program.
- Journalism Internship Program: Paid placements at newspapers, major media networks, online news sites, and investigative, nonprofit newsrooms. Spring, summer, fall.
The Humane Studies Fellowship helps aspiring academics fund their studies. Awards are given to graduate students and outstanding undergraduates conducting research that advances a free society through their academic work. Last year they awarded more the $750,000 to 195 students.
